We are finally moving into a house. A real house. Not a condo, not an apartment, not a townhouse. A real house with a frontyard, backyard, sideyard (if you could call it that), garage, patio (hmmm, well 'deck'), and a doorbell. And hopefully one day....a VEGGIE GARDEN!!! And lots of flowers. We're getting down to the nitty gritty. One more day left to pack, then the truck arrives, and it all gets loaded on and taken away to the new place. One problem....I've hardly packed a thing!
I know! You're thinking...wow, you either must not have very much stuff, or you're nuts? Hmm, well I would go with a little of both. We do have lots of stuff, but almost every year I am forced to purge and downgrade on my collectibles (some people would call it junk, others would call it frivilous items, still others would call it treasure). I love crafting, so tend to collect a little bit of that. Plus I've decided that I'm a magazine hog, so do have a few stacks of those. And I'm a student so of course I've got loads of textbooks and necessary piles of papers (emphasis on the necessary piles of papers!). And every year I attempt to purge as much as possible. So I have stuff, just not unnecessary piles of stuff. And yes, sometimes I do think I'm nuts. Who else would spend their time watching 'America's next top model' instead of packing to move into their long-awaited new house. *Hand goes up into the air* "I would!"
So needless to say, tomorrow is going to be very very busy. And I ran out of boxes today too. So I'll need to go on a run for more boxes tomorrow. I'll probably end up skulking around the big box stores (Staples, Petsmart, etc.), trying to score a box here, a box there. Then end up rifling through their recycle bins full of cardboard at the backs of the stores. Yeah, it will be embarassing, but it is a necessary evil. Perhaps I will strike out tomorrow at first light. You know, then if anyone sees me, they will think that they are still at home sleeping and dreaming about crazy people scooting around and on the prowl for the elusive cardboard box. Sigh, the things I do to save a buck.

How did the Great Box Hunt go? And the Grand Move of Ought Six? I'm so happy for you! I'm loving the pics of your house, especially the outdoor ones. Your new abode is very quaint and almost castle-ly! And you've got a back porch! Be careful that it doesn't fill up with junk . . . get at least a couple of chairs out there! I'm also looking forward to romping through your garden and eating some of the veggies contained within.
Let us know once you've settled how you're liking the place (and if Jingles has calmed down any). :)

We were sitting on the porch last night, eating bar-b-q. I had empty, plastic green flower pots piled in one corner, sprinkler and hose nozzles piled on top of the flower pots, a red bathroom rug hanging over the railing, 2 (unmatched) drinking glasses sitting on the railing, we're sitting in our ooflah chairs eating bbq'd shrimp and a bbq'd salmon right off of the bbq with only forks. We were sooooo trailer park!! It was great!
Not to worry, it all got cleaned up. We now have a firepit in the backyard... S'mores anyone?
