Just a quick update for those wondering about my Threadcake. It lost out to peanut butter sandwiches, moldy zombie peanut butter sandwiches and the undead. So needless to say I was really disappointed. Especially because it seems everyone is infatuated with mold, disease, the undead and grossness. Having said that, the cakes that won were good, just not my style at all, so Ì am biased. But I did win because my birthday girl really loved it. And it was fun to eat. And pretty fun / non stressful to make.

Geez . . . . I kind of forgot about this, so thanks for the update!

I'm rather puzzled by some of the winners in both categories. The Grand Prize for the 3D cake really does my head in. It's not great in terms of skill, and the whole concept really goes against the goofy spirit of the shirt design. Out of the 3D cakes that placed, Fox Confessor should have won, definitely. Even then, there were a lot of cakes that were phenomenal that didn't place. Like, there were a TON of Bob-omb cakes made, and the one that placed third was nowhere NEAR as good as some of the others.

So I'd take these results with a grain of salt. Yes, I thought your cake was more original and clever than some of the ones that won (and again, I'm hoping to Herman that they didn't judge solely based on the "main" photo, and saw what was under your icing!).

Yer still a winner in my books! And if you want to make me another Threadcake for my birthday (weird that they have this competition in the dead of summer, isn't it?), I wouldn't complain!

Do you have a link to your entry page?

I did have a link, but I believe I deleted it (perhaps in a frustration moment? Or I might just have been cleaning out my mailbox). Whatever. I'd enter again next year if I have time anyhow!!!!
