Down to the Nitty Gritty.....

Yes, that would appear to explain it all.

How many minute but important details can one leave until the last minute? If you are me, that would be MANY!!!! I have lists of things that must be attended to. Stuff that could have been dealt with earlier in the timetable. But of course some of us work better under pressure (um, ok) and we prefer to leave stuff until the last minute (um, stupidity). Oh yeah, I'm talking about this whole wedding thingy that takes off in just over a week.

Yep. One more week of being a bacholerette (actually I think I gave that up about 5 years ago! Maybe more). One more week of independence (hmmm, another thing I gave up over 5 years ago). One more week with my last name. That is kind of sad. I get attached to things pretty easily, and I am attached to my last name. But I'm willing to sacrifice that as I'm not one to get close and comfy with the hyphenated last name. I just don't like it.

One weekend left. 2 days of work left. 5 weekdays left. 9 sleeps left. 9 days left. That is the countdown at this point. And right now my body is saying that it is time to knock yet another day and sleep from those totals.

You know what I discovered yesterday? That I work 8 days in a row, with the 9th being my departure date. NO MORE FREE DAYS! Mind you, I don't have all those details that you do. Still! How am I going to get to the recycling depot between now and Wednesday?!

I can see how giving up the last name might be sad. But look at it this way: you're moving up the alphabetical order queue, plus no more painful spelling-out-your-last-name sessions with people over the phone. Plus, you can hide in a phone book easier. :p

Can't wait to see you and the gang again - we're gonna have a great time around the wienie roast pit. :)
